Solo's free tier lets you use every part of the app without a paid license, with limits on projects and managed processes.

"Processes" means commands, agents, and terminals managed by Solo. Linked checkout/worktree projects do not count toward the four-primary-project quota.
What happens at the limit
- If you are at 4 primary projects, adding another primary project opens the license prompt. Linked checkout/worktree projects do not count toward this limit.
- If you are at 20 processes, adding another process opens the license prompt.
- If you are unlicensed and already over either limit, Solo blocks process starts until you activate a license or reduce usage.
- If you deactivate a license while over the free limits, Solo returns to the free tier locally and stops running managed processes.
Upgrade path
Activate a license from Settings > Account or the title bar prompt to remove free-tier limits. By default, Cmd/Ctrl+, opens Settings; you can change this shortcut in Settings > Hotkeys. See Activating a License for the steps.
