Solo has a built-in updater for packaged builds.
Checking for updates
You can check for updates from:
- Solo > Check for updates... in the menu bar
- Settings > Account
- The title bar Update badge when Solo has already found an available update
Solo also checks for updates in the background. Update check results are cached for a few minutes, and background checks run periodically while the app is open.
Update flow
- Open the updater UI.
- Start the download when an update is available.
- Watch the download progress in the update dialog.
- When the download finishes, restart Solo to apply it.
You don't have to restart immediately. A downloaded update is staged and applies the next time you open Solo. Until then, the title bar shows Relaunch.
Solo uses a signed built-in updater. Update requests include the current app version, platform, device ID, and license key when one is active.
