Troubleshooting

Start here when Solo is not behaving the way the docs say it should. Work through common PATH and notification problems, reset stuck settings, or collect the right details for a useful issue report.

Commands can't find tools (PATH issues)
Solo's managed commands receive an effective launch environment assembled from shell capture and command-configured variables. On Unix-like systems, Solo captures the login-shell e…
Notification troubleshooting
Solo sends both in-app toasts and native desktop notifications depending on the situation. If notifications aren't showing up, work through these checks in order.
Resetting settings and state
If Solo is behaving unexpectedly, you don't need to nuke everything. Start by resetting only the part that's likely broken.
Reporting issues
If something's broken, the best way to report it is from inside Solo itself.

Solo

Solo is the programmable meta-harness for coding agents that runs every CLI harness beside your dev stack and gives agents shared processes, scratchpads, todos, and control through MCP, HTTP, or the Solo CLI.

Built by Aaron Francis, dad to two sets of twins, creator of faster.dev, and creator of Database School. He built Solo after running Claude Code alongside his dev stack and juggling nine terminal tabs.
