# Terminal context pins

Context pins are the small status overlays in the top-right corner of an agent terminal. They keep locked todos, saved-session details, and Solo MCP setup health close at hand without interrupting the terminal.

Hover over the pin cluster or move keyboard focus into it to expand the labels. Click a pin to open its details. On narrow terminals, the pins stay icon-only but remain clickable.

When the selected agent requests terminal mouse input, the same tray also includes the [mouse ownership control](./mouse-ownership.md). That control is tied to the current process run and isn't one of the configurable agent pins below.

## Choosing which pins appear

Open **Settings > Terminal** and find **Pins**. Each pin family can be shown or hidden independently:

- **Todo locks** — shows todos currently locked by the agent.
- **Saved session** — shows saved session details and resume actions.
- **MCP setup** — shows Solo MCP setup health for the agent.

All three are enabled by default. Hiding a pin only removes its overlay; it doesn't release todo locks, delete a saved session, or change MCP setup.

## Todo locks

When the selected agent holds one or more todo locks, the pin shows the number locked. Open it to see each todo's title, priority, and status, then select a todo to open its detail view.

The pin stays hidden when the agent has no locks. If Solo can't load the current lock state, it shows an unknown-status warning instead of stale todo details. See [Todo agent tools](../todos/agent-tools.md) for how process-owned locks work.

## Saved session

The saved-session pin reports whether Solo has an exact provider session ID for the agent:

- **Session saved** — Solo has an exact resume ID. Open the pin to see the provider, resume ID, and resume command. You can copy the ID or command, and a stopped agent can be resumed from the same panel.
- **Resume unavailable** — Solo doesn't have an exact ID, or the provider doesn't support exact resume. Open the pin and use **Check again** when that action is available.

See [Stopping and resuming agents](../agents/stopping-resuming-agents.md) for provider support and the other ways to resume an agent.

## MCP setup

The MCP pin summarizes Solo MCP setup for the selected agent's configured provider:

| Pin label | Meaning |
|-----------|---------|
| **MCP ready** | Solo MCP setup is installed for the provider. |
| **MCP missing** | Solo MCP setup is missing for the provider. |
| **MCP disabled** | Solo's MCP server is disabled. |
| **MCP manual** | The provider requires manual MCP setup. |
| **MCP unknown** | Solo couldn't verify the setup or the status is unavailable. |

Open the pin for the full status and an **Open MCP settings** action. When the status is unknown, you may also see **Check again**. See [MCP server integration](../integrations/mcp-server.md) for setup instructions and available clients.
