# Process favorites

Favorites let you star the processes you care about most so you can cycle between them with a shortcut and find them faster when they need attention. Agents, terminals, and commands can all be favorited.

## Marking a favorite

There are three ways to toggle a favorite:

- **Star button** — hover a process row in the sidebar and click the star on the right side. The star stays visible (filled, amber) while the process is a favorite.
- **Context menu** — right-click a process row and choose **Add to favorites** or **Remove from favorites**.
- **Command palette** — select the process first. Open the full palette with its current shortcut (`Cmd+K` by default on macOS; `Ctrl+K` by default on Windows and Linux), or open context actions with its current shortcut (`Cmd+P` by default on macOS; `Ctrl+P` by default on Windows and Linux). Choose **Add to favorites** or **Remove from favorites**. Both palette commands can be changed or disabled in **Settings > Hotkeys**.

A [toast](../notifications/in-app-toasts.md) confirms each change. Favorites apply to agents, terminals, and commands; todos and scratchpads can't be favorited.

## Cycling between favorites

Two global shortcuts jump directly between your favorite processes:

| Platform | Previous favorite default | Next favorite default |
|----------|---------------------------|-----------------------|
| macOS | `Cmd+Shift+[` | `Cmd+Shift+]` |
| Windows and Linux | `Ctrl+Shift+[` | `Ctrl+Shift+]` |

Cycling follows Solo's projected process order across all projects in the current workspace, wrapping around at either end. That order can differ from the grouped section order shown in the sidebar. If any favorites are currently running, cycling only visits the running ones; when none are running, it visits all favorites. See [Workspaces](../workspaces/overview.md) for how workspaces scope what's visible.

Both shortcuts can be remapped in **[Settings > Hotkeys](../keyboard-shortcuts/customizing.md)**.

## Favorites and the focus jump

The [focus jump palette](../command-palette/focus-jump.md) lists processes that are unread **or** favorited, so starring a process keeps it eligible even when it hasn't raised a notification. Use the palette's current shortcut; it defaults to `Cmd+Shift+E` on macOS and `Ctrl+Shift+E` on Windows and Linux, and it can be changed or disabled in **Settings > Hotkeys**.

Within each project, focus jump results are ranked:

1. Unread favorites
2. Other unread processes
3. Running favorites
4. Remaining favorites

See [Notification indicators](../notifications/indicators.md) for what makes a process unread, and [Focus jump](../command-palette/focus-jump.md) for the complete palette behavior.

## Why you might use favorites

- **Pin an orchestrator or lead agent** — you might be working with one lead agent and several subagents. Favoriting the lead agent makes it easy to return to.
- **Pin your daily drivers** — star the dev server and your main agent, then use the current previous- and next-favorite shortcuts to move between them without touching the sidebar.
- **Keep watch on a flaky process** — a favorited worker shows up in focus jump even when it has no unread notifications.
- **Cross-project hopping** — cycling crosses project boundaries, so favorites work as a lightweight "working set" across everything in the workspace.
