# Reordering Commands

With the sidebar filter clear and no overlay open, you can drag and drop commands to reorder them within their [section](../sidebar/understanding-sections.md) in the sidebar.

## How it works

With the sidebar filter clear and no overlay open, drag a command up or down within its section to rearrange it. Reordering is section-aware — you can only reorder commands within the same section and project.

Solo saves the order locally for each process. Updating an existing command preserves its position, and newly inserted processes are appended unless you create them relative to another sidebar item.

## Lesser-used commands

When the per-project lesser-used view is collapsed and no sidebar filter is active, the **[Lesser used](./lesser-used.md)** command context-menu toggle hides stopped marked commands behind the lesser-used affordance. Running marked commands stay visible so active work is still reachable. An active sidebar filter temporarily shows lesser-used commands regardless of the collapsed state. This is a local command-only setting and does not affect lifecycle, trust, auto-start, or restart behavior.

## Tip

If a drag target is rejected, make sure you're reordering within the same section and project group. You can't drag a command from one project into another.
