# Focus jump

Focus jump is a smaller jump palette for processes that need attention or belong to your working set. By default, press `Cmd+Shift+E` on macOS or `Ctrl+Shift+E` on Windows and Linux. You can remap or disable **Focus jump** in [Settings > Hotkeys](../keyboard-shortcuts/customizing.md).

It includes commands, terminals, and agents that are unread, marked as a [favorite](../sidebar/favorites.md), or both. Ordinary processes with neither state stay out of the list.

## Result order

Within each project, Focus jump ranks results in this order:

1. Unread favorites
2. Other unread processes
3. Running favorites
4. Remaining favorites

Typing filters the list by workspace, project, and process name. The process you're already viewing is left out.

## Across workspaces

When multiple workspaces are available, Focus jump starts with the current workspace. Press `Tab` or click the scope pill to search **All workspaces**. Selecting a result opens that process in the appropriate workspace or window.

Unread state comes from Solo's [notification indicators](../notifications/indicators.md). Favorites stay eligible even when they have no unread activity, which makes Focus jump useful as a keyboard-driven working set.

Use [Quick jump](./quick-jump.md) when you want every kind of destination, including projects, sections, todos, scratchpads, Settings, and Activity monitor.
