# Themes

Solo supports three application theme modes: **Light**, **Dark**, and **System**.

## Changing your theme

1. By default, open **Settings** with `Cmd/Ctrl+,`. You can remap or disable this shortcut in **Settings > Hotkeys**.
2. Go to **Appearance**.
3. Choose your preferred theme mode.

**System** follows your operating system appearance setting, so Solo switches between light and dark when your OS does.

## What changes

The theme setting toggles Solo's application chrome between light and dark styles. The [terminal preview](./font-settings.md) in Settings also follows the effective light or dark mode, and running terminal surfaces use the matching terminal palette.

The current Settings UI does not expose a picker for named VS Code-style color themes. The stable user-facing control is Light, Dark, or System.
